It only goes up to 15 FPS!
It only goes up to 15 FPS!
Installation, configuration and usage is super straightforward. However the only thing missing is an option to use higher quality levels than 1920x1080. I know the camera on the newer phones is able to take 4K footage if only at a slow fps
Had an old iPhone 5 I wanted to add to my Zoneminder system. This worked great. Just need to add /video.mjpg as remote host path. Also recommend adding an ID and password. I set it to largest size which gave me a 1920x1080 image in ZM. Just the app I was looking for!
I sat down for hours trying to figure out the best way to set up my iPhone and iPad as wireless cameras for a twitch stream. I had heard of a couple of $5 apps, and was willing to pay to make this work. I found that every app I had come across was difficult. You had to install software on the computer, and it was really unreliable.. crashing, showing blank video, or locking up completely. Getting the stream set up each time would require loading up multiple programs, and resetting my scene. (Each of these apps only allowed one device) I almost didn't jump in on this app because it was paid only. They should offer a free stamped/low quality version to try out.. but that's not the issue I had with it. This app is browser based, and because each device is given a link based off its IP, you can have multiple websites. You have a decent amount of settings you can play with for video feed quality, and once you set up your scene for the first time, all you have to do is launch the app on the devices and they automatically pulled up on the stream. Fantastic. My issue: There is no way to lock or set orientation to landscape. If you tilt the phone sideways it will go to landscape, but if you try to set the phone flat, or even remotely close to flat, it will pop back to portrait. And there's nothing on the phone itself that shows whether it's portrait or landscape. I had to open the website and watch. I'm trying to do an overhead shot of a table, and this may not work for it if I can't figure this out or dev doesn't fix this issue. Maybe I can portrait lock it and see if I can manually turn the video feed in twitch 90 degrees.. that's another day I suppose. Thanks for a great app.
Does not require any additional software on the browser. Flexible enough for any stream capture client. Exactly what I was looking for.
I have tried to make this work as advertised with its parent product iCamSource Pro on two separate and completely open local networks. It just plain does not work. It's a scam. Save your money.
Worked great before iOS 9. Upgraded to iOS 9.2 and ipcam will no longer load. Totally useless. Needs an update or a refund.
if you’re considering buying this: don’t! the last update to it was 4 years ago. it crashes immediately upon startup. obsolete apps like this should be forcibly removed from the app store and the developer should be forced to return any money he received beyond a certain point in time.
How do I get my money back? This app is complete garbage, don't waste your money. I can't adjust the settings or even connect to the video.
When I open the app it shuts down right away!!!
The app worked immediate for local network but it took me some time to figure out how to get my comcast xfinity router modem to forward a port number. The video feed still didn't work even though canyouseeme.org showed the port number is not blocked, but fortunately it works now after I rebooted my router modem. I can now see my iPad mini live video feed in my iPhone Safari browser while on LTE network.
Downloaded icam on one iPhone and ipcam on another iPhone and they cannot connect together without a computer as ipcam source ? That is ridiculous. Some of us have moved on from dinosaur technology and do not use pc's anymore. I would like a full refund please ASAP? Waste of my hard earned money. And no support at all from company. Pure garbage App.
What a joke! I always go by the reviews before I buy, and I got my head crossed with another app and made the mistake of buying this one. Don't even think about it! This is junk! Go for IP Cam Pro. Just like it sneaks in the wording, this one has only the flash control from the web interface. But I will say for those of you complaining about getting the 404 bla bla bla error, it's because you need to change the /80 in the address bar back to a :80 when you try to reload the page. Because of the developer's reported lack of interest yet the app is still up for sale for idiots like me to buy, the developer is on my personal black list. They can write all the top-notch apps they want from here on out, and I won't buy a thing from SKJM, LLC.
You may need to do some tinkering, but this does work as advertised. I'm able to stream the video and capture it via another application. You could also use this to view video via the web interface which is simple and easy. To view outside of your LAN you probably need to set an open port and enable port forwarding on your router. Very satisfied
Avoid this app if you are expecting this ipcam to work like ipcamsource. Ipcam is only useful for if you have a computer without a camera. Ipcam must be connected to a computer to work.
This app works as advertised for me. My iPhone 4 works thru my att router to my iMac via WiFi. The app opened up displayed the router IP address. I typed the router IP address into the Safari browser, and it was working.
Would like a refund. Frustrating and doesn't work. No live support to call or chat.
Works as advertised. What the people complaining don't seem to realize is that it takes more than just installing the app for it to work. Just like any other webcam, you have to configure your network router in order to be able to access via the network, or Internet. Plus you'll probably need a fixed IP address if you want to access through the Internet. Don't need that for local network access. 4 stars pending more features.
I love this app, I had no problem getting it set up and connecting, even out side our home network. And as for you guys who can't get it to work, it is because you don't know how routers work(just so you know I AM NOT A DEVELOPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I thought this app would be an easy to use alternative to a baby monitor. I was looking for something that would work on my wireless network and allow me to watch my baby sleeping by running ipcam on an old iphone 3gs. Affter paying for the product and installing it, I was unable to connect to the ip address of my iphone. I tried both with a browser as well as their icamsource software, but neither worked. I even followed the advice from their online support page, forwarded the apporpriate ports, but still no connection. I am very familiar with my router and have no problems adjusting settings, but nothing I do has any effect on my ability to connect to the ipcam. With this many issues and the required (but unmentioned) router setup, this should be a free app. Don't waste your money.
I use this app on my iPod Touch 4th Gen and every second (literally, not over exaggerating) the stream picture gets interrupted with this blank grey screen that cuts out 3/4 of the video for a second! I love this app so much, but its pointless if the picture goes blank and you can't see anything! I want this fixed SO BAD!
In this app it doesnt allow for the camera to select where to focus or do any zoom so until they release an update it useless
Using an iPhone 4 as the camera, and an iPad 4th Gen as the viewer. The app on the camera starts and has no trouble configuring. When attempting to load it on the viewer, it just hangs there on a white screen with about 20% loaded on the progress bar. Then it times out. Tried using Safari and Dolphin on the iPad, as well as Firefox on my desktop with the same result. Tried changing ports, made sure the IP was correct, etc. If this is fixed, I will update this. It seems to work for others, I'd give 5 stars if it did for me.
Only works on home wifi. I have a iPhone 5 on Verizon never worked on LTE. Don't listen to that guy that said it work he part of the Company just to get your money
It works great! Thanks for a great app!
Simple and effective. Handy eay to throw up a quick security camera using an iPhone. Works with iOS6 on iPhone4.
Don't buy it wast of money! Don't work.
Does exactly what it say it does! Works great as a doggie cam. The bad reviews on here are not smart people. Know your terminology! Don't slam developers because you don't know your stuff.
Super awesome friends pulled up the ip on their phones and could see my streaming cam! Very cool
I really like this app. I've used it as an instructor to hold my phone over what a student group is doing and then show that video on my web browser on a computer that's attached to the class projector. So everyone can see their work. Sometimes I've used it as more of a monitoring cam on what someone's doing on their own desktop screen so that I can get feedback on software. For this purpose, it'd be nice for the app to add the feature where if I cover the proximity sensor, the screen blanks out. Wiresless Camera has that feature. Overall, great app.
Hi, It seems to work and work fairly well. For people having trouble viewing from outside local LAN I think this is related to network settings which can be complex but aren't really specific to this app. I was able to view the video from multiple browsers simultaneously which is very nice. Biggest complaint: The audio seems to be 2-3 seconds behind the video which makes the quality for communicating and presenting very poor. Please fix this!!
After spending more than enough time with this.... Here's what I found out... Here is the short of it: "to view iPhone "ipcamera" outside of the network.... You have to have a computer running iCamSource on the same network. That takes signal and allows you to view via iCamSource. You can't just turn on ipcamera and view from down the street.... And at this point they don't plan on taking the time.... To do what they make you think this thing is going to do. I found iCamSource very usefull for my computer lab and laptop. This app is not. It's clear the positive reviews are friends of the developers. As you will see reviews after this hopefully.... will tell the true nature of this app... Totally lame..... Here's info that I came across. ipCam allows your camera enabled iPad to function like a network IP camera. """"NOT""""" ipCam therefore needs to be connected to a computer running iCamSource .. The functionality of iCamSource built into ipCam has been requested in the past and is currently on our list of potential features to implement in the future. Unfortunately, we do not have any immediate plans to develop that feature. Uhhhhhhh develope this feature???? I bought this ... Because you do not make it clear you need a laptop or computer running to view outside the network to use with your own product iCamSource.... Stupid.... What a joke.
I didnt find this application usefull at all, i bought icam and ipcam to use along with my ipad. However it does not work, even after installed. I would like to please get my money back. Thanks!
I was looking for a quick way to stream video from my iPad/iPhone to my computer, and I found it. Case closed. Without no configuration, I had an awesome stream running...and the options available do let you customize it a bit. Some additional options would be nice, but I don't even use what's there now. It's perfect right out of the box. Can't recommend it enough.
Downloaded, bought, and tried all the ip camera apps and viewers out there. So far, this is the best one. I was able to set up my iPhones and iPad to send or watch video streaming from my iCamSource server on my mac. Punching hole in the firewall was effortless. Great Job!
This app is just awesome. I have been looking for something like this for a long time now and was not disappointed when I used it. It does exactly what it says. Get it and be amazed. I would put it up there in the app store essentials category. Some suggested update features would be: the ability to control the video size and quality from the computer on which it is being viewed, and an emergency app close button. The emergency button could be used of you are trying to be sneaky with the camera but someone picks up your phone for some reason. The button located on the link to the feed would tell the phone to close ipcam, much like the button for the flash on/off.
This app lacks support. The 15 who have reviews must be the developers. I have thrown my money away. Legal ramifications upcoming! No do purchase!!
Super cool, super easy. Rock solid app. Lots of options. Skjm rocks. I also have icam - 5 star. Keep the apps coming !!!
Amazing app, works great and also really easy to set up. The quality of the image and video when watching is beyond descent. Even when I tether with my htc EVO and use my laptop and itouch over it's wifi the quality is still awesome. I recommend it to anyone. Well worth the money
It's a great app. Good things about this app are that you can customize the image size and quality, view the great quality pics on the device that broadcast the camera. First time i decide to buy this app is that i want to get something more like controling my device from web browser. But finally i know that it's just a regular remote view of cam. I think you should provide more detailed information about it here, just like how the interface looks on the web browser, can i control the focus like what you have done with flash, can i change the settings of image quality and size from browser, can i save the video and pic from the web browser, can i record video directly from web browser, is there another controlling on pc or mac side Unfortunatelly i couldn't find that inforamtion here or on your official website. And about the price, i think $3 is too much for the regular remote cam viewer.
Great App
And does it well. It is a 5 star app in the making, with one flaw holding it back. I would like the app to be able to run in the background, at least when the device is locked. Right now you have to set auto lock to never or else it will stop streaming when my iPod (4g) locks. If you don't mind leaving your screen on (you can darken it) then this is the app for you. It's very simple, needed no setup. I downloaded the app, punched in the I.P. It showed after launching it into my browser, and I was able to view the video in real time on my computer. Edit: changed from 3 to 5 stars, not running while locked isn't too huge a problem. You can tap the preview to darken it. Still, it would be nice to work when locked. Also, some new features would be nice. For instance, for using it as a security camera if it could flash the image red or something when there's a lot of movement (pixels changing) it would be nice so it would draw your attention to it. Updates would easily make this a 5 star app!
I cannot tell you the number of Apps I have purchased hoping they did something only to find out that they did not. Money down the drain... This is one of the few Apps that I can say did what I wanted -- and was EASY to config and get running. In fact, I was up and running in seconds. It had every feature that I needed and would want! Wow guys... Wow... So to the review -- You download this in seconds. You can configure the video and crop it to show exactly what you want. You can set the listening port -- very important when you have a webserver running at home on port 80, you have your disk drive on another port, and you have your router running on another port -- Just pick a port and you are ready to go... (Remember if you are attempting to connect remotely, you will have to put a static IP on your phone and then route to the IP address and the port number -- and this has to be put in your "Linksys" router. The best -- it has security -- you can put in a user name and a password and stop anyone from accessing your camera remotely without the password. You can set your image size and quality of video and sound on and off -- all kinds of settings... If you want to roam around with your phone shooting video over your webcam (like mount it to your bike and take everyone for a ride), you can purchase a Dynamic DNS account (like through TZO or something like that) -- that will give you a URL and a PORT number that you can broadcast over 3G (Oh gosh, AT&T's worst nightmare!). So again, I cannot say enough about this... It is a great APP and you guys did a great job in Development. Congrats!
This app is so cool. It took about 10 seconds to learn and works great. The resolution is high and audio works great. 10 out of 10.
Right away was able to view wifi and through external ip. Great app thank you very much.
